The town of Iznajar is situated high up above the lake.The lake covers a vast area and offers watersports,angling as well as having a superb restaurant bar/restaurant offering local dishes.The town has a ancient castle along with its churches,quaint shops,bars and its new indoor sports centre with fully equipped gymn.
The town of Rute famous for its hams,anise liquors and chocolate factories and museums is only 10 minutes drive also having a variety of shops.Shopping malls,hypermarkets,cinemas their are the larger towns of Antequera and lucena within 30/40 minutes drive. The area is of outstanding beauty where if you want a day on the coast to visit the beach it only takes 1 hour by car as the roads in this area are excellent for driving and is more a less a straight run down to malaga airport.
